Dr. Malige is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon who completed his fellowship at the renowned Kerlan Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, his residency at St. Luke’s University Health Network, and his medical school at Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. He has extensive training and experience in hip arthroscopy (including labral repairs, labral reconstruction, osteoplasty, and iliopsoas release), anatomic ACL reconstructions using multiple graft types, meniscal surgery, rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability surgery, shoulder arthroplasty, and throwing elbow injuries. He also specializes in superior capsular reconstruction, knee multi-ligament reconstruction, syndesmotic injuries, and other surgeries of the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, and ankle. He is also well versed in fracture fixation of all upper and lower extremity fractures.
He has served as an assistant team physician at the professional level (Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Galaxy, and the Anaheim Ducks), collegiate level (Pepperdine Waves), and the high school level (numerous high schools across the Lehigh Valley). He is also an extensive researcher, using it as a way of staying up to date on new surgical techniques. He has published over 50 papers and book chapters, focusing on shoulder arthroplasty, throwing elbow, ACL reconstruction, and biologic treatments. He has also given lectures and presentations at numerous national orthopaedic conferences. In addition, he currently serves on multiple committees for the American Orthopaedic Association (AOA) and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), and he serves on the editorial board for the Arthroscopy and BMC Musculoskeletal Disorder journals.
Dr. Malige was born in Mountain View, CA and grew up in the South Bay. He now lives in Pacifica. He went to high school at Saint Francis High School and college at University of California-San Diego. He grew up playing basketball, swimming, tennis, and pickleball, continuing to play to this day whenever possible. He also enjoys hiking with his wife and dog, heading to the beach, and biking. He is excited to be a part of and help the community he grew up loving.
