Art Garfinkel, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with a distinguished career spanning military service, academic research, and elite clinical training. Dr. Garfinkel offers a deeply knowledgeable and multi-faceted approach to musculoskeletal health. He is affiliated with Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital and maintains a private practice. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Garfinkle is a certified California Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME) and has contributed to the advancement of orthopaedic science. He is a co-author of the landmark biomechanical study, “Effects of Angular Rotational Deformities of Bones of the Forearm – An In Vitro Study,” published in the prestigious Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (JBJS).
Prior to his civilian practice, Dr. Garfinkel served with distinction as a Major in the United States Air Force. A graduate of the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine at Brooks Air Force Base in Texas, he served as a Flight Surgeon deployed to Udorn Royal Thai Air Force Base in Thailand, supporting the 555th and 25th Tactical Fighter Squadrons, as well as the 40th Air Rescue and Recovery Squadron. He later served as the Chief of Aerospace Medicine at Ellington Air Force Base in Texas.
