Bryan Penalosa, MD, is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Southern California. Dr. Penalosa grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada, and is a first-generation physician.
Dr. Penalosa feels fortunate to have worked with and been trained by some of the best orthopedic surgeons in the nation, which has made him passionate about teaching and student/resident mentorship. Dr. Penalosa holds the designation of Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and fulfills clinical faculty roles at both the VA Loma Linda Healthcare system and Loma Linda University Health. He has contributed numerous medical publications in peer-reviewed journals, on topics such as early instrumentation failure following spinal osteotomy and strategic extension in spinal fusion procedures.
In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Penalosa is actively involved in collegiate sports, serving as the team physician for UC Riverside and Cal State San Bernardino.
As a med-legal expert, Dr. Penalosa is respected by both plaintiff and defense attorneys for his impartial opinions, professionalism, and timely reporting.
Dr. Penalosa resides in Redlands, CA, with his wife and their dog, Toby. Outside of work, Dr. Penalosa is a former Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor and competitor who now enjoys weightlifting, spending time with his family, and exploring new foods. He speaks both English and Tagalog fluently.
