Lee Rawitscher, MD is a board-certified psychiatrist with a focus on consultation-liaison psychiatry. Dr. Rawitscher completed his residency training at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine, He is affiliated with the UCSF Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and practices at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, a major academic safety-net institution serving one of the most diverse urban patient populations in the country.
Dr. Rawitscher is an active clinician and educator who integrates teaching directly into his clinical work, supervising medical students and residents in patient interviews, mental status examination, diagnosis, treatment planning, and interview technique, and participating in daily team rounds and twice-weekly interdisciplinary rounds with Psychiatry Nursing and Neuropsychology. He has contributed to the peer-reviewed literature, including as principal investigator of a landmark study of HIV-related physician counseling preferences among over 800 adolescents in the greater Boston area, published in Pediatrics (1995), as well as a published case report on tramadol and antidepressant drug interactions in the American Journal of Psychiatry (2000).
Dr. Rawitscher brings deep expertise in psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, psychopharmacology, and the standard of care in complex inpatient and consultation settings to his medicolegal work.
