Dean Rider, MD

Dr. Dean Rider is a board-certified, fellowship trained Internist and Gastroenterologist with more than 40 years of clinical and medical-legal experience. In addition to his practice, Dr. Rider provides comprehensive med-legal evaluations and is a California Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME), bringing extensive expertise in the assessment of gastrointestinal disorders, internal medicine conditions, and their impact on industrial injury and disability claims. His background in both general internal medicine and gastroenterology allows him to evaluate complex cases involving digestive diseases, systemic medical conditions, and issues related to causation, apportionment, and impairment.

In addition to his longstanding private practice, Dr. Rider has held numerous leadership roles throughout his career, including serving as President of the Fourth District Medical Board of California, Vice Chief of Staff and Head of Quality Assurance at St. Mary’s Medical Center, and President of Baynet Medical Group. He earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago, completed his Internal Medicine residency at St. Mary’s Medical Center, and pursued advanced fellowship training in Gastroenterology at both the VA Martinez Medical Center and the University of Chicago.
