Dr. Sonya Meyers is Board Certified Occupational Medicine Physician and California Qualified Medical Evaluator. She is a long time member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM), the people who created the ACOEM Guidelines, which became incorporated into the Medical Treatment Utilization Schedule. She was a Primary Treating Physician for 10 years before becoming a QME.
Along with her med-legal work, Dr. Meyers is still a treating physician and sees patients in a bilingual work comp practice, a few days a week. She started learning Spanish at the age of 3, a few months after learning English, thanks to the Public Broadcasting System.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Meyers loves to cycle in the San Francisco Bay Area. She and her husband host dinner and board gaming once a month, playing games like Settlers of Catan or Crononauts. During football season, you can find her and her husband on Saturdays in the alumni section at Memorial Stadium in Berkeley. She and her husband also enjoy volunteering outdoors with Scouts BSA.
