Omar Tirmizi, MD

Omar Tirmizi, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained internist and pulmonologist with 28 years of experience treating and evaluating patients with diseases of the lungs and airways. His specialties include Pulmonary Medicine and Sleep Disorders.

Dr. Tirmizi has board certifications in Critical Care Medicine, Sleep Medicine, and Pulmonary Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).  He currently maintains board certification with the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), Pulmonary Disease through ABIM and Sleep Medicine through the American Board of Sleep Medicine.  Dr. Tirmizi is a fellow of both the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. For many years, he held a position of Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

Dr. Tirmizi brings over 15 years of experience evaluating injuries and illnesses as a California Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME), as well as serving as a medical expert in personal injury and civil litigation cases.

Away from the hospital and clinic, Dr. Tirmizi is happiest outdoors. On his days off you are likely to find him on a golf course, where he enjoys the patience, focus, and steady improvement the game rewards — qualities not far removed from the practice of medicine — and the chance to spend a few unhurried hours in the open air with good company.  He is equally drawn to the water, and makes a point of visiting the beaches along the California coastline, whether for a long walk on the sand, an afternoon by the ocean, or simply a quiet sunset at the end of a busy week.
