Peter D. Vash, MD, M.P.H., FACE., is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine, emeritus, at the David Geffen School of Medicine UCLA Medical Center, earned a Masters of Public health at the UCLA School of Public Health, and was a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar at the UCLA School of Medicine. He is a Past President of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians; Board Certified in in Internal Medicine specializing in Endocrinology and Metabolism with an emphasis on Obesity Medicine. He is Diplomate and Board Certified in Obesity Medicine. Dr. Vash testified as an invited expert witness before a Senate Sub-Committee on Nutrition in Medical Schools and in Clinical Practice. He has served as an expert reviewer for the State of California Medical Board. He has extensive clinical experience treating overweight and obese patients, post bariatric surgical patients and patients with type 2 diabetes and those with diabetic complications. He Served on the Board of Shape Magazine where he wrote a column about weight loss. He is the Past Medical Director of the Lindora Medical Clinic.
