John Hearst Welborn, MD

John Hearst Welborn, MD is a board-certified, fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders and traumatic injuries. His clinical practice encompasses comprehensive orthopedic care, including operative and non-operative management of conditions affecting the shoulder, hip, knee, and other major joints.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Welborn is a medical expert and California QME with more than 20 years of experience specializing in orthopedic surgery and disorders of the upper extremity.

John H. Welborn, MD, completed a fellowship in Hand and Microvascular Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) under the mentorship of Edward Diao, MD, following his orthopedic surgery residency through the San Francisco Orthopaedic Residency Program at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society, and received his undergraduate degree in Physics from Franklin and Marshall College.
