Kevin Yoo, MD

Dr. Kevin Yoo is a board-certified neurosurgeon and one of the premier neuro-spine specialists in Southern California. He received his bachelor’s degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Morehead Scholar. He went onto Emory University School of Medicine where he became a doctor in medicine and did his Internship. He moved onto the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where he attended graduate school and did two years of research on brain tumors. Dr. Yoo then moved to Illinois to Loyola University Medical Center for his first half of his Neurosurgical Residency and then completed it at University of California at San Diego.

Dr. Yoo works at various hospitals in San Diego where he cares for complex trauma, brain and spine patients. Throughout Dr. Yoo’s medical career there has always been a passion for research, which has led to numerous publications and presentations. He has extensive training that has resulted in his intricate and meticulous expertise. Dr. Yoo has been relied upon as a spinal and neurosurgical expert throughout his career.

In his Neurosurgical practice, Dr Yoo also routinely takes care of post-traumatic medical problems related to personal injuries including motor vehicular accidents, assaults and falls. In particular, he specializes traumatic brain injury (TBI) cases and in the medico-legal evaluation of neuro-spine residual issues after trauma. He is a well-known medico-legal expert in this arena. He is highly respected from both sides due to his impartial professional opinions, professionalism and delivering timely reports.

He is the proud father of three wonderful children and is a family man with a talented spouse who runs his private practice.
