Dr. Phan is a licensed clinical psychologist with specialization in depression, anxiety, LGBTQ, and psychological/neuropsychological testing. Her main theoretical approaches are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamics/Psychoanalysis.
She conducts forensic evaluations administering psychological/neuropsychological testing, fitness for duty evaluations, personal injury, psychiatric evaluations for workers’ comp, and evaluations for court ordered clients. She previously conducted treatment of veterans and other populations and performs MDO (Mentally Disordered Offenders) Evaluations of inmates/prisoners from Southern Regional state prisons of California.
Dr. Phan has administered research specific inventories to patients who had Schizophrenia, Bipolar, Major Depressive, Alcohol Use, and a plethora of disorders from the DSM-5. She also worked on program development and resource building for innovative programs that were funded by the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA). She frequently administers neuropsychological/psychological tests to clients referred from clinicians for differential diagnosing.
Her practice history involves working at the Juvenile Drug Court in Orange, CA., where she administered psychological tests and assessments to determine client eligibility for the court. She also practiced in an elementary school setting, providing counseling services for elementary and middle grade students who experienced behavioral, personal problems, or difficulties with academics. In addition, she has provided psychotherapy to geriatric clients suffering from dementia, pain disorders associated with medical conditions, and myriad other psychiatric and mental disorders at a clinic.
