Dr. Katherine Robb Ramirez is a board-certified physician specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), with extensive expertise in Independent Medical Evaluations (IME), Agreed Medical Evaluations (AME), and Qualified Medical Evaluations (QME). She has been a certified Qualified Medical Evaluator since 2015, providing trusted medical-legal assessments alongside her robust clinical practice.

Dr. Ramirez earned her medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine and completed her residency in PM&R at Boston University Hospital. Throughout her career, she has cultivated a reputation for her meticulous, objective evaluations that integrate clinical acumen with a comprehensive understanding of the medical-legal landscape.

Her evaluations feature detailed analyses of injury mechanisms as they relate to reported symptoms, including assessments of claimed associated and compensable consequence injuries. She conducts thorough evaluations of applicants’ activities of daily living, providing specific examples that demonstrate the impact of injuries on functional capacity, correlated with the affected body parts.

Dr. Ramirez employs advanced assessment tools such as J-Tech computerized range of motion analysis, ensuring precise and objective impairment ratings in accordance with the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, 5th Edition. Her reports consistently address legal considerations, including the application of Almaraz/Guzman case law and other pertinent precedents. She is recognized for her detailed apportionment analyses, which are supported by well-reasoned clinical rationale.

Prior to focusing on medical evaluations, Dr. Ramirez held diverse leadership roles, including serving as Medical Director of the Stroke Unit at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, a Harvard teaching affiliate. She was also the Medical Director of New Medico Neurorehabilitation Center, Medical Director of PM&R at Exeter Hospital in New Hampshire, and Medical Director of the PM&R program at Irvine Medical Center. She has extensive experience in Industrial Medicine and Pain Management, further enriching her understanding of complex patient presentations.

In addition to her med-legal work, Dr. Ramirez operates a regenerative medicine practice in Riverside.  Beyond her professional pursuits, Dr. Ramirez is a talented artist with a background in oil painting, having studied at the Boston Museum School of Art in the 1980s. Her artistic eye enhances her attention to detail and ability to perceive patterns in complex clinical cases. She enjoys hiking, weightlifting, volunteering with her church’s homeless ministry, and spending time with her husband and two daughters. Her husband, Raymond Ramirez, Esq., is a retired Deputy District Attorney for Riverside County, providing her with unique insights into the legal field.
